Join artist Marjolein Trewavas and spend a day creating your very own William Morris inspired embroidery on a vintage tennis racket in the beautiful surroundings of Kelmscott Manor.
Marjolein says:
In my work I explore the re-use of materials, not only to make an ethical statement but also because the pieces I use have a history and charm.
I studied as a Textile Designer and after graduating with a degree in Textiles & Surface Pattern I explored the re-use of materials.
By re-using material for this workshop, I want to do justice to the philosophy of William Morris by using both the beautiful patterns he and his daughter May designed and also to incorporate an object to reflect traditional craftmanship used in everyday life in this case wooden tennis rackets.
The workshop runs from 10.30am -4.30pm and costs £85, all materials included.
This workshop is suitable for ages 14+ but anyone booking on to the workshop under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
