Draw, gild and paint your own illuminated capital inspired by William Morris at Kelmscott Manor with Sarah Davis, 2024's Maker in Residence.

Using an array of historic techniques, over the course of this day long workshop you will gild and paint your own illuminated capital. You will learn how to use 23ct. gold leaf, mix Morris inspired colours using Goauche paints and practice fine brush work to achieve beautiful miniature details. We will also explore some of the natural pigments medieval illuminators and Morris would’ve used to create these stunning artworks.

The workshop runs from 10.30am -4.30pm and costs £95, all materials included.  

Please note tea/coffee and cake will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch as our tearoom will not be open and lunch will not be provided.
