Writing Kelmscott masterclass – creating your own house of words with Robert Seatter - Tuesday 24th June

Join us for this exclusive masterclass with acclaimed poet Robert Seatter at Kelmscott Manor.

Explore the fascinating spaces and artefacts of Kelmscott Manor in this inspirational creative writing workshop.

After some warm up exercises to get the words flowing, you’ll start creating your own house of words through short texts, accessible forms and concrete poems.

You’ll then create poems/texts in the voice of objects in the Manor as well as unpacking your own narratives of what houses mean to you and how they have shaped your own memory and identity.

Participants will leave with three texts for future development. The material will also become part of a wider Community Poem curated as Kelmscott’s contribution to National Poetry Day, Oct 2025.

The workshop runs from 10.30am 4.30pm and costs £125, all materials included.  

Robert Seatter is currently poet in residence at Kelmscott Manor. He is the author of eight acclaimed poetry collections, and is also a broadcast historian and presenter.
